Why Our Military Should Be Praised, Not Reviled – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

Chief of General Staff Leo Irabor

Recently, some enemies of the country attacked a train bound for Abuja, a facility set up by the government to facilitate the movement of citizens.

Unfortunately, some lives were lost in the encounter, adding more screams to the one already existing in our homes.

Mothers in United Nigeria (MUN) mourn with affected families and ask God for comfort.

The encounter with the terrorists has undoubtedly brought out the best in the members of the Nigeria Armed Forces.

As soon as information about the crisis reached them, our troops stormed the scene and carried out the rescue of the victims.

According to one of the victims, Maimuna Ibrahim “I was unable to walk, it was a soldier who carried me on my back to the car which took us to the hospital. They carried us and were able to get over the cliff. Seriously they tried because it was not easy to climb the cliff.

Another of our lucky compatriots, Anas Iro Danmusa said: “The soldiers informed me that the air force could not come because of the weather, but help was on the way and they kept their promise. .

“I could say their response and arrival was the fastest anyone could ever get by road. I can never forget what the Nigerian Army HQ did for us.

“They responded quickly, rescued us, comforted us, prioritized the seriously injured and made sure they were sent to the Nigerian Army 44th Referral Hospital and eventually took us to the same destination with mainly their buses. Please continue to grow stronger and win your battles against the enemies of the nation.

“I also pray that God will give the FG the wisdom and ability to continue to support you in the best way that will allow you to fulfill your responsibilities. We are very proud of you.”

The Kaduna State Government, in a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, confirmed the role of the military in rescuing the situation.

“The relevant response agencies were urgently contacted and robust personnel deployments were quickly made to the area to secure passengers on board”

The efforts of our armed forces and in the Northeast can certainly not be overlooked. Despite the magnitude of the crisis, they continue to pressure the terrorists who now resort to different deadly tactics for more relevance.

The pressure led some 7,000 members of the terrorist organization Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Boko Haram to march into northeast Nigeria within a week.

Giving credence to what our AFN is doing to bring peace and stability, Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde during the official inauguration of the construction of Air Base 671 located in Ajia region in Ibadan, Oyo State noted their significant contribution.

“Allow me, at this point, to commend the efforts of our military personnel in countering insurgency, banditry and other security threats in various parts of our country. I will always say that our security agencies often do thankless work. No one remembers you when there is peace, but people start asking you what you did once there was a breach. So let me say thank you.

MUN commends the efforts of the Armed Forces of Nigeria ably led by the Chief of Defense Staff, General LEO Irabor, who not only quickly deployed personnel to carry out the rescue, but visited the locations for an on-site assessment.

MUN will continue to pray for the safety of our troops and their successes against those who want to make our country dangerous for innocent citizens.
