Donegal charity seeking loving foster homes for rescue dogs – Donegal Daily

Local animal rescue group Animals in Need Donegal have issued an urgent appeal to find foster families to give rescued dogs a second chance.

the the benevolent charity prioritizes rescuing death row dogs from the local pound. But a lack of space at local rescue centers means they have to look to the public for help.

This week, Animals in Need launched a search to find dog lovers who want to do something rewarding this year.

If you have the time and space, and a love of dogs, the charity would love to hear from you.

The role is to care for rescued dogs and shower them with love as they wait for their forever home.

The call said:

You can help make a huge difference for animals in need.

  • Are you over 18 or have you just retired?
  • Do you work part-time or in shifts?
  • Do you have experience with dogs?
  • Do you have an enclosed garden?
  • Do you have your own transport?
  • Do you live within driving distance of Donegal town?

Then you could be exactly what we are looking for.

What you can expect as a foster dog:

  • Keep 1-2 dogs in your home. An outdoor course can be arranged.
  • Feed, water and clean
  • Ensuring socialization and play,
  • All expenses paid – pet food, veterinary care, toys, etc.

We would be delighted to welcome you to our team! Caring for rescue animals isn’t always easy, but it’s one of the most rewarding things you can do. We are 100% volunteer run and we do all we can and when we can. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs and puppies we can help.

Animals in Need Donegal works across the country to help and rescue abandoned, stray and unwanted animals. Volunteers run weekly errands at the county pound to rescue unwanted dogs and operate two hotlines, one for cat inquiries and one for dog inquiries, where we offer advice and support for members of the public.
